Jesus R. Gonzalez-Monreal, PhD.

Dr. Gonzalez, Ph.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist in Mexico who has worked in private practice in Tijuana for over twenty years. He holds a master’s degree in Social Studies and a Ph.D. in Global Studies from the Autonomous University of Baja California, Mexico. Dr. Gonzalez has worked in Public Health, specializing in research on immigration issues, with the San Diego State University and the University of Guadalajara. He graduated from the San Diego Psychoanalytic Center from the Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy and Adult Analytic programs. He is currently a Training and Supervising Analyst. He focuses on the patient’s object relations and unconscious fantasy, how they appear in the relationship, and the transference. He is bilingual and treats patients in both English and Spanish. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors at SDPC and the American Psychoanalytic Association. He is interested in philosophy and music and their relationship to the psychoanalytic field.
