Dr. Reid Kessler is a licensed clinical psychologist who works with adolescents and adults in individual psychotherapy. He earned his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (PsyD) from Biola University, an APA-accredited program, and completed his pre-doctoral internship at Philhaven Hospital, also APA-accredited. He is a former board member of the San Diego Psychological Association (SDPA).
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Kessler is the founder of Coastal Therapy Group, a group practice of psychologists with offices in Encinitas, Carlsbad, and Vista. There, he provides supervision to postdoctoral fellows and cultivates a professional community grounded in psychodynamic thinking and collaborative learning. His therapeutic approach draws primarily from contemporary psychoanalytic and relational perspectives. He is especially interested in helping individuals recognize and shift longstanding patterns, work through complex emotional experiences, and build more authentic relationships with themselves and others.
