Fellowship Program & Study Group

SDPC FELLOWSHIP

SDPC began its one-year Fellowship program in 2010, as part of an initiative to provide introductory exposure to psychoanalytic concepts for early-career clinicians, advanced students, or established clinicians at the masters level or above.

The Fellowship runs from September through May each year. The program is centered on monthly seminars with pre-circulated readings. These seminars typically meet on Friday evenings at SDPC, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.

Also included in the Fellowship are individual mentorship and discounts to other public events at SDPC. The Fellowship is free of charge, but anyone who wishes CME credit is asked to pay $20 per seminar. Please note also: If you wish to receive an optional Certificate of Attendance from the Fellowship Program for your own use, you must plan to attend at least 7 Friday evening seminars. Reliable attendance at these meetings enables the safety, trust and mutual support that makes vulnerable sharing of counter transference possible during case discussions and allows valuable clinical learning to take place.

Applications to the 2025-26 Fellowship open on January 1, 2025, and close on May 31. To apply, please email a brief letter of interest and CV, including names and contacts of at least two references, to SDPC Fellowship Director at fellowship@sdpsychoanalytic.org.

Applications for the 2025-26 Academic Year are now closed.
