Presenter Information

Laurie Weiss, Ph.D.

Laurie Weiss, Ph.D. is a psychologist and psychoanalyst who has been in private practice in San Diego, and prior to that Manhattan, for almost 20 years, treating adults and couples.  She also teachs about psychotherapy in the Psychiatry Department at UCSD, at San Diego Psychoanalytic Center, and at Alliant International University. 

Dr. Weiss is a Training and Supervising Analyst at SDPC and the Director of SDPC's Education Department.

Jeffrey Penner, Ph.D.

Jeffrey Penner, Ph.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist in California and holds a CPQ certificate through the Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards (ASPPB) Mobility Program.

He is a graduate from Alliant International University’s Professional Psychology Program and did his Pre-Doctoral Internship and Post-doctoral Fellowship at San Diego’s Scripps Mercy Hospital. Dr. Penner is certified as a Qualified Medical Evaluator (QME) in the State of California and am a member of the California Psychological Association, San Diego Psychological Association and American Psychoanalytic Association. He is also accredited by the California Medical Association and the California Association of Marriage & Family Therapists.

He is currently enrolled at the San Diego Psychoanalytic Center’s Psychoanalytic Training Program.
