Event Description: Dr. Colarusso will share insights on his paper, Psychoanalytic Perspectives on the Nearness of Death, which contimues his lifelong interest in normal and pathological development. Using the psychoanalytic tools of observation, insight and introspection, he describes the very sparse, psychoanalytic literature on late-late adulthood, and describe his own experience as he approaches 90.
Target Audience: This event is intended for mental health professionals and open to the public interested in psychoanalytic perspectives. Open to members and the community.
Registration/Attendance Process: This is a hybrid event and preregistration is required.

Presenter Information
Cal Colarusso, M.D. (Presenter)
Dr. Colarusso provides child analytic supervision, consults, second opinions, and child and adult evaluations, as well as analytic psychotherapy, and expert testimony.
He is a Training and Supervising Analyst in Adult and Child Psychoanalysis, Board Certified in Adult and Child Psychiatry, and a retired clinical professor of Psychiatry at UCSD, and author of six professional books and more than fifty peer-reviewed articles. His publications have been published in English, Spanish, Korean, French and German. He is also the author of 17 ebooks and audio books. Dr. Colarusso came to San Diego in 1973 and became a member of a study group that proceeded accreditation of the Institute by the American Psychoanalytic Association. He is the the last living member of the original study group.
